Kulshan Brewing

Continuing my Bellingham series is the suburban brewery with 2 locations Kulshan Brewing. As I had never lived in Bellingham before, I found the breweries that drew my interest first were the breweries I was most familiar with. I had purchased the Kulshan Lager, Greenwood Summer Ale, Red Cap Red Ale, Raspberry Gose, and Kitten Mittens Winter Ale in cans prior to working on this series.

Upon seeing it in person, I was greeted by a relaxed familial atmosphere with a diverse group of taps with even more options in cans or bottles at the brewery. Both breweries are far enough away from the local university that the regulars are mostly families and locals done with the day or getting off work. Unlike in downtown Bellingham, it is often very nice to get a beer in a place with energy and community that is not surrounded by college students.

Kulshan Brewing has great, varied, consistent, and priced to the neighborhood beer in a relaxed suburban atmosphere. Both locations I went to were always busy and I always had an excellent experience. I have spent many afternoons and evenings with Chris and Arlen enjoying a beer and a local food truck after work getting to know the Bellingham community.
